We have several opportunities in the coming weeks to hear terrific and entertaining speakers with important news of upcoming events that will affect all of our golfers.
First, Mike Roddy will be our guest at our September 4th luncheon. He will speak on overseeding and all things related to golf course maintenance. Please sign up through our website for our luncheon held on the RoadRunner Grill Patio, featuring grilled marinated skirt steak. Deadline for sign up is Monday, August 27th, at 3 p.m.
Second, Troy Jewkes will be our guest at our October 16th luncheon. He will speak on the loft of irons, how they help and how they hurt us. Also at this meeting, the slate of officers for 2019 will be announced.
Third, through Al Bolty, Chairman of Golf Rules at MountainView Preserve Men's League, we are invited to a seminar covering all of the new golf rules that are effective January 1, 2019. Mr. Robin Farran, from the AGA and an expert on PGA rules, will speak about these new golf rules at 2 p.m. in the Ballroom at the MountainView Clubhouse on Monday, October 22nd. It sounds like all of the SB golf associations are invited, so it will be a packed house. Get there early.
Fourth, Anjanette ("Anj") Brown, Info and Outreach Director at AWGA, will be our guest at our November 13th luncheon. She will speak on the merger of AGA and AWGA and answer all of your questions. Also at this meeting, the election of officers for 2019 will take place.
Please mark your calendars for these important events.
