Special Tournaments
Entry fees are necessary for Special Tournaments that are self-supporting. The entry fees are priced at amounts sufficient to cover all the event’s expenses. SBWGA-18 members who have not paid annual golf fees are required to pay green fees as they would any time they play the golf course.
With the agreement of the current Board, the Chair(s) and Committee will: (a) establish entry procedures; (b) determine the field and format; (c) determine the method for substitution in the event of cancellation.
QUAIL CLASSIC
1. This is a two-day member-guest event. Guests must have a current established and verifiable USGA 18-hole handicap index to be eligible. Entrants will play to a maximum course handicap of 36. Guests may not be members of SBWGA-18.
2. SBWGA-18 members who have not paid annual golf fees are required to pay green fees as they would any time they play the golf course.
3. The Chair(s) for the following year shall be appointed by the President and the current Board.
THREE JILLS AND A JACK
This one-day (1) event is for SBWGA-18 members and their guests. The Jack must be a verifiable resident of SaddleBrooke HOA #1 or HOA #2 with a current established USGA handicap index. The Three Jills and a Jack Chair(s) and Committee will establish the field, format and related activities. All entrants will play to a maximum course handicap of 36. This event will take place on even numbered years.
SADDLEBROOKE WOMEN'S CLASSIC (formerly known as HOME AND HOME AND HOME)
This is a reciprocal event is for members of SBWGA-18, MountainView/Preserve Women’s Golf Association-18 and SaddleBrooke Ranch WGA-18. The Chair(s) of the SaddleBrooke Women's Classic and Committee will establish the field, format and related activities. All entrants will play to a maximum course handicap of 36.
MEMBER-MEMBER
This is a two-day eclectic tournament. Format is a 2-person better ball. The format may be changed by the tournament chairs. The maximum course handicap for the tournament is 36.
GUEST DAY
This is a one-day tournament where SBWGA members are encouraged to ask members of other local clubs to partner with them in this fun event; handicap differential between partners may not be more than 10 strokes; if the playing handicap between the two players is greater than 10 strokes, the playing handicap for the player with the higher handicap will be reduced. Team Best Ball format; flights of teams will be determined by team handicap.
MIXED SUMMER CLASSIC
This one-day event is for SBWGA-18 and SMGA members. The Chair(s) and Committee will establish the field, format and related activities. All entrants will play to a maximum course handicap of 36. Responsibility for this tournament rotates between the SBWGA-18 and the SMGA. The SBWGA-18 will host this event on the even numbered years.
LAGOS (LADIES AMALGAMATED GOLF OF SADDLEBROOKE)
This is a cooperative event with the SBWGA-9 (Lady Niners). Responsibility for this tournament rotates between the SBWGA-18 and the Lady Niners. The SBWGA-18 will host this event on odd numbered years.
“SOLHEIM TYPE” TOURNAMENT
This is a two-day team match play event broken into four 9-hole matches. Day One will consist of a 9-hole scramble match and a 9-hole better ball match. Day Two will consist of a 9-hole Chapman (modified alternate shot) match and a 9-hole better ball match.
