ACE OF THE MONTH
The Tournament Chair schedules this monthly event. Low Gross and Low Net winners over the field will determine the Aces of the Month. Monthly Ace winners are limited to one win in low gross OR one win in low net per calendar year. The USGA recommended method will break ties.*
AGA STATE MEDALLION TOURNAMENT
LOCAL CLUB STATE MEDALLION TOURNAMENT
- Competition will be open to AGA members on the club member's Play Day and will consist of two best gross and two best net 9-hole rounds for 9-hole clubs and 18-hole rounds for 18-hole clubs out of four designated rounds. Players need not participate in all four rounds to be eligible. Determining the winner of the basis of the best tow rounds out of four is intended to give players the maximum opportunity to produce two good scores, not to eliminate those players who cannot play all four rounds. The AGA recommends that all four rounds be played on the same course. All f18-hole rounds should be posted as "T" scores (9-hole rounds CANNOT be posted as "T" scores) as determined by the local Handicap Committee in consultation with the Committee in charge of the competition if it meets The USGA Handicap System's definition of Tournament Score.
- Disqualification from one round of the tournament does not disqualify the player from the tournament.
- Players may participate in each AGA member club competition of which she is a member.
- Should handicaps change during the play of the four stipulated rounds, or a play-off is necessary, the Handicap Index in effect at the time each round is played will be used.
- In the event of a tie, the local committee in Charge of the competition should follow The Rules of Golf recommended procedure for how to decide ties in Section 5A. The committee has the authority to determine how and when a tie is decided. The decision should be published in advance of the competition.
- The maximum Handicap Index of 20.2 for 9-hole clubs and 40.4 for 18-hole clubs will be used, as specified in The USGA Handicap System Manual. Players may "play down" to that index, if necessary.
- The AGA Representative of each member club should be actively involved in the conduct of this tournament at her club. Medallions will be distributed to each participating member club for presentation to the gross and net winners.
- No participant may win both the gross and the low net awards. Gross will take precedence over net.
AGA STATE MEDALLION CLUB TEAM TOURNAMENT
- Entrants in the AGA State Medallion Club Team Tournament will be the winners of the low gross and low net prizes in her club's State Medallion Tournament. In the event that the club's State Medallion tournament has not been completed for that year at the time of the AGA State Medallion Club Team Tournament, entrants may be the winners from the previous year. In no case may the entrants be the winners from a State Medallion Tournament held more than one calendar year prior to the State Medallion Club Team Tournament being entered.
- The number of qualifying teas per Club is determined by the number of active AGA members as of September 1 of the qualifying year the winners are determined. Clubs may choose to register additional teams based on their total membership as follows:
- For 9-hole clubs:
- 75 members = 1 team
- 76-125 members = 2 teams
- 126 or more members = 3 teams
- For 18-hole clubs:
- 350 members = 1 team
- 351-700 members = 2 teams
4. A two-person team is required to enter. (Individual entries will not be accepted). Should the first place winner of a club's State Medallion Tournament choose not to represent her club in the State Medallion Club Team Tournament, a club will field its team by entering the second place finisher of that division and proceeding down the order of finish, until the team has been fielded. (For example, a team may consist of the second place t=gross winner and the first place net winner).
5. There will be NO EXEMPTIONS into this tournament.
6. A player may compete on only one team and represent only one club. The player must have been active on the club's roster during the year and must be an active AGA member on the day of the local State Medallion Club Team Tournament in order to be eligible to play. If the State Tournament is held in a different year than the Club Tournaments, the club must determine if former club members will be allowed to represent that club at the State Tournament.
7. The competition shall consist of individual stroke play.
8. There shall be a 9-hole competition and an 18-hole competition. Players must compete within the division for which the club's State Medallion was won.
9. Maximum Handicap Index limits of 20.2 for the 9-hole competition and 40.4 for the 18-hole competition, as specified in The USGA Handicap System Manual. Players may "play down" to that index, if necessary.
10. The team score will be the total of the gross player's gross score and the net player's net score.
11. A perpetual plaque will be awarded to the 18-hole Team Champions and the 9-hole Team Champions.
12. Replacements for either partner must be received by the Director of Tournaments no later than four business days prior to the tournament. If a replacement cannot be found, an individual may play but will not be eligible for Team prizes/awards. Refunds will only be granted per the General Conditions of Competition for medical or family emergency.
